Hawaii was the most recent of the fifty U.S. states (August 21, 1959), and the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands. It was the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean, southwest of the continental United States, southeast of Japan, and northeast of Australia.

Hawaii’s diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, an abundance of public beaches, oceanic surrounding, and active volcanoes made it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists alike. Due to its mid-Pacific location, Hawaii had many North American and Asian influences along with its own vibrant native culture. Its capital was Honolulu on the island of Oahu.

History[]

21st Century[]

During the 2012 Apocalypse, Hawaii was hit by earthquakes of unprecedented strength and then the Hawaiian Hotspot erupted, resulting the whole state of Hawaii to be engulfed entirely of lava.

The state was going to be the fuel stop for the Antonov 500, piloted by Sasha and Gordon, which the Curtis family, Karpov family, as well as Tamara and her dog Cesar were aboard in. As the plane neared closer to the state, the pilots saw red-colored clouds, which surprises Gordon, who invited Jackson and Yuri to the cockpit for a look, which they accept while their families and Tamara remain seated in the main cargo deck. In the cockpit, after the plane clears the clouds, the four men watch in horror as Hawaii is obliterated by major volcanic eruptions and lava flows which destroyed entire cities and regions on the island as the skyscrapers were on fire with few collapsing. It is logical to assume that the state’s entire population had been killed. Therefore, they lost the chance of refueling the plane and were forced to make a water landing somewhere in the South China Sea because the Antonov 500's landing gear was lost and broken in Las Vegas. The ruins of Hawaii and the Hawaiian Islands were later swept by a mega-tsunami during the Worldwide Flooding.
