Dorothy Wilson was the wife of U.S. President Thomas Wilson and the late mother of Laura Wilson. She died during the events of the film.

Thomas Wilson mentions her final moments to Adrian Helmsley when he was trying to persuade the President to aboard Air Force One. He remembers that she suggested that a lottery system should be used to choose those for the Arks instead of private tickets and those selected by geneticists, and wonders if he and the other nations should've done that.

- It's reasonable to assume that she was alive at least past 2010 in the film, as she had enough knowledge of the 2012 Apocalypse to suggest a lottery system to choose people for the Arks in her final moments.
