History
Throughout the 2012 apocalypse, the African continent was swept by a mega-tsunami and remained flooded until the apocalypse ended. When time was reset to year one, Africa had risen and, unlike the rest of the continents, was not fully destroyed/damaged and is left habitable.
The Cape of Good Hope becomes the set course for the arks after the waters start receding all over, making the Drakensberg Mountains the tallest in the world.
