Antarctica was a continent at the South Pole. It is located at the bottom of Earth and is the home to penguin species as well as seals.

During the 2012 apocalypse, Antarctica was hit by massive earthquakes, which caused avalanches of snow and ice to collapse, killing some penguins and seals before the Earth's crust shifted more than a thousand miles, removing the Antarctican continent from its original position to where the South American continent originally sat. Antarctica was then swept by a megatsunami during the Worldwide Flooding.

After the apocalypse ended, Antarctica is left underwater with extreme damage from the earthquakes and tsunamis, which melted the snow as the water came in contact with it, and is rendered uninhabitable.
