AD 1 is the current year of the 2012 universe after an apocalyptic event destroyed the Earth and almost wiped out its population. The Earth became uninhabitable and all of its continents were submerged underwater, destroying them.

- Three Arks survived the apocalyptic event and are sailing to find land so their surviving passengers and crew can remake their lives.
- The floodwaters started to recede with most of Europe and Asia risen, but the entire African continent had risen, one on of the only places that did not suffer extreme damage.
- The 3 Arks began to set sail for the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, for all its surviving passengers to rebuild its civilization.
